Does music artists still make money online and offline?

A fantastic question anyway welcome to abujarock.blogspot.com. We going to break it down for who is already in the music business and those looking forward to embark on the journey.

First lets start by saying if music business still pays as claimed, therefore, we see no reasons why the top musicians are dropping out of the business. though music is a lucrative venture but for those who have the capacity, capital and knowledge.

The question is "Does music artists still make money online and offline?" Well, when talking about making money offline as a musician it could be by having a space to physically sell music or perform to earn. But how possible is it at this generation. In the days of DVDs, musicians and artists were cashing out from shows, album physical sells, and even by releasing single track in mixtapes but then the biggest challenge in the music industry was CD piracy and still musicians were making it.

In the era of online music stores and android phones, we believed few might had earlier benefited but comparing to the standard of offline distribution. They were more musicians and recording deal opportunities and opened field for CDs producers / the music distributors to make money.

In this 21 century we started seeing online music distribution that redefined the music business that musicians can sell their music and earn huge money online, but how accurate is this claim? Mind you is the online music distribution structured to limit the value of music or to favour the distributors?

In the digital community, is there hope for the upcoming musicians when music on online stores can still be sound recorded and downloaded for free online.

Another point we should considered that was actually helping independent music artist to generate money from offline music is the access to CD burning without having any regret buying / burning his music in a CD plate. Do you know I still have my audio CD plate at home that I can play anytime without me paying for a renewal fee. by now, you should know what I am trying to point out if you have used any music distribution platform. It is a petty that the online music distribution companies wants every music artist to be on a paid plan with a yearly renewal packages that does not guarantee artist success.

We are not trying to discourage anybody but based on our secret research and interviews, we beginning to thought the digital music structure.

Do you know, there are many online phone apps that can freely download music on online music stores  like spotify, youtube, tiktok, facebook, etc without paying, such does not make sense and now is on the rise that music artists are fading out.

Today we see many publishing / talking about how music artists can make money online without considering the loops, many who had started well with good budgeted capital are now regretting. The craziest thing is the method of promoting the distributed music on online stores before one can earn from it, imagine that we have to upload our music video, performing video freely online convincing audience who are already spending money on data subscription to buy our music online.

Back in the days of TV promotion, music artists earn royalty from their aired music video. But now many music artists pay to get their music promoted such is not a guarantee that one would benefit from it after investing money. And that is to tell you those who were pirating music offline had quietly find their way doing the business online.
